Hi and welcome to the website of Tempestas. Tempestas is a fantasy role-playing game which we have been working on for some years now. We created Tempestas with an interest in history, politics, religion and mythology. Tempestas is a dark medieval world with an element of Victorian science and politics. Behind the physical reality of Tempestas flows a mystical energy generally known as Arcane, a force which experts have learned to manipulate and use as a powerful tool. The dominant species is humankind, coexisting are Vires creatures of nature, Pugnandi Cupidus steel boned creatures of war, Tuu Decularis insect-like creatures and others. The game is set in Penya, which is a blend of Templar's Knight and London by gaslight. The game sessions will be spun tales of forgotten horrors fighting it's way back from oblivion, solving of murder mysteries, investigation of extraneous occurrences and mythological enigmas, all coloured by political and religious agenda.
The gaming system is based upon core rules which uses D100 rolls to resolve outcome. A character is divided into Statistics and Skills, and Features to broaden the characters individuality and make the character more fun to play. To build an interesting background for the character, there are many Occupations to choose from. Combat has also been upped for deviating through a system of different Fighting Styles. Characters of Arcane can enjoy a free system which allows them to focus on many different kinds of energy and effects.
The state of the game
What you see here is only an early version of Tempestas, but we will evolve it further into the future. The game presented here is jet not possible to play, but we hope it will be before too long. The intention with this site is to create a community around the game, so we hope that people will be interested when the game is playable.
